Mastering public speaking involves having public speaking confidence and delivering info to people who are, in one way or another, waiting to get some info.

This is a key reason why you need to prepare and be ready as you gear up to make your speech and as you intend to meet your audience.

Some individuals are naturals at public talking and engaging audiences. However, the fact of the case is the majority of individuals are not good at making speeches and the overwhelming majority of folks are scared of delivering a talk. But this shouldn’t deter you in any way.

If you are at the point that you’re going to publicly speak, you have to be confident in what you are about to say. You have to realize that most people in the audience are looking forward to what you are about to say. They want to benefit from what you are about to talk about.

But you aren’t thinking about the majority of the individuals in the audience, are you?

You are thinking about the minority, who may know just a little bit more than you on the subject you are about to start talking about.

This is a major mistake.

Why?

You should concentrate on the people who will benefit from your talk.

You have something that even the minority will benefit from.

And the key to all this is simple.

Preparation.

Think about your audience, who is the average person coming to your speech, what does he know, what does he want to know, what will provoke him and make him listen carefully to what you want to say, and how can you get him to understand your speech?

It’s not that tough, its essentially good to start at that point, remember the audience wish to know what you are thinking and you simply need to keep them interested.

Rehearse.

Practice the speech again, and again, and again.

So rehearse your speech and hear yourself while doing it. Speak in an assured and confident way. Talk about things you know extremely well. Let your confidence and experience shine through and if you do this right, you will own your audience.

Think about your entrance and the first couple of minutes of your speech. Focus on the way you walk in, project confidence and calm, don’t dive into anything, even if you are late or under a tight schedule do everything slowly and solemnly.

Ensure you get the eye of the audience, and start confidently.

That way you’ll have public speaking confidence and begin mastering public speaking.

The only proven idea to better public speaking confidence

Mastering public speaking can be difficult. No let me re-phrase that…public speaking can be difficult.

Have you ever been asked to publicly speak?

Scary isn’t it?

Research shows that public speaking is the public’s number one fear.

We panic, we sweat and we shake with fear.

Why?

Because we are going to be ‘on-show’. Everyone is going to be staring at us, may be even judging our performance.

See how you can start mastering public speaking… with the World Champion of Public Speaking

So our public speaking performance has got to be good, it has got to be the best it can be, otherwise…your reputation is highly damaged and you might look a fool.

That’s why we panic. That’s why we get nervous and that’s why it’s the world’s number one fear.

I’ve been through it myself. I’ve felt that anxiety. I felt totally stressed out. I’ve been soaking in sweat just before going onto the stage and publicly speaking.

But that was over 25 years ago and since then I sought advice from the best…NLP experts Paul McKenna and Dr. Richard Bandler and the World Champion of Public Speaking…Darren LaCroix.

Mastering public speaking includes a few key activities that will help you make a huge impact with your audience and help reduce your fear.

Preparation – You must be properly prepared.

You cannot scrimp on this step. You cannot ‘wing it’.

Make sure that you have enough material and content and that what you are talking about is worth knowing. Once you have completed all your research for your topic familiarise yourself with the material.

A real simple test you can do to check whether or not you have a proper understanding on your subject is ask yourself this question:

“Could you have a Q&A session after your speech and confidently answer their questions”?

What’s your answer?

So let’s assume you have completed your research and written the majority of your speech.

Now how are you going to start and close the presentation?

You must be sure that you know exactly how you are going to start and how you will close. I don’t suggest that you write out your whole speech, but it can help if you write down these two areas.

Tell stories!

Audiences love to hear ‘real life’ stories. What stories can you add to your speech? Maybe you are presenting about your latest invention and you can recall a time when you made so many mistakes, you just wanted to give up.

Stories allow your audience to find out a little more about you and helps them relate to your subject and remember it.

When you present…speak, don’t read.

Do your best to speak about your topic in a conversational manner, as if you are simply talking to someone in a coffee shop. But make sure to speak up so everyone is able to hear you. Imagine speaking to the furthest person away from you.

Mastering Public Speaking can be done with some effort and a few key activities.

Mastering Public Speaking – This is how NOT to do it
